Description

KIRIN is an advanced STM32 I2C LED and buzzer audio-visual feedback controller specifically designed for FTC robots. It is developed and manufactured by FTC TEAM 27570 and released by BYNX. With STM32 as the core controller, it uses the I2C communication protocol to achieve efficient audio-visual command transmission and control. The default communication address is 0x60. It provides a flexible, customizable, and highly responsive audio-visual feedback solution for FTC robots, suitable for various application scenarios such as robot operation feedback, status alerts, and command prompts.
The product integrates professional LED lighting control and on-board buzzer sound output functions, supporting multi-mode audio-visual output and real-time simulation of quick operations. It is compatible with one-click control from operation terminals such as pad1 and dpad. The basic lighting mode can achieve pure red, pure green and other single-color displays, as well as basic operations such as single light on and all lights off. At the same time, it is equipped with two distinctive lighting modes. One is the dual-color mixed breathing water flow mode (command identifier ENTW), which can achieve smooth breathing gradient animation between two colors, and the water flow speed can be freely adjusted, with precise configuration of light brightness. The other is the police light strobe mode (command identifier ENTST), which uses a high-frequency flashing method of alternating groups and is suitable for warning and reminder scenarios of robots. The on-board buzzer achieves synchronized sound feedback with the lights through I2C commands, supports custom buzzer frequency and duration, and can be quickly triggered by LB/RB for buzzer alerts, with the command identifier BENT, meeting the sound feedback requirements of different robot scenarios.
In terms of equipment configuration and energy consumption management, KIRIN is equipped with an intelligent ID allocation function. After the device is powered on, it will automatically emit an orange flashing prompt. After the ID allocation is completed, it will automatically enter the standby state, balancing the convenience of configuration with low power consumption requirements, and is suitable for the usage scenarios where robots need to work for a long time.

To reduce the development barrier, the product offers comprehensive development support. It comes with a LedModuleDriver.java code snippet, which encapsulates practical functions such as setWaveMode. It enables seamless generation of I2C instructions. Developers can directly call the functions to configure parameters like light mode, color, speed, and brightness, and send instructions. This significantly simplifies the development process of the robot's audio-visual functions and enhances development efficiency.
